The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. 前半段不错，后半段一言难尽，没坚持到最后，但也预料到大概的走向，编剧弱了一些，演员都还不错，也很用功，并不是敷衍之作，还是可以及格的作品

先说优点，摄影讲究，音效丰富，打鱼小妹的吴侬软语好听，在杜比厅里看很沉浸。再说缺点，套一层黑白滤镜≠水墨化，吝啬台词≠诗意≠适合战争题材，相比起来还是《1917》看着舒服。综上，我愿称之为本届北影节最佳催眠影片。

万玛才旦监制，嫡系班底护航，包括了德格才让声音指导，意象、声音与万玛才旦电影相通。诗电影追求简单、凝练，最难处理的就是意象符号使用，多则繁，少则薄，本片剧情没表面看起来那么拉垮，不过意味和立意确也不深。影片后半部分真实拍出了战争之残酷，几场水下戏、林间枪战是亮点，部分意识流段落堪称佳章。镜头里，青年演员被拍得特别有魅力。PS，看来以后此类电影不仅要有文学顾问，还要有党史顾问了。
