The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 20211204.没有看过音乐剧，Evan一开头就被感动到流泪了。之前就是被预告感动到来看的电影。剧情后期有点逻辑上违和感整体还是挺不错的。connor怎么可以这么帅！图书馆那段场景转换的唱跳太精彩了。
资本为了增值和逐利，使资本家贪婪成性、毫无底线。就像马云刚开始是行业的开创者，像屠龙勇士一样，但现在却成恶龙了，为了赚钱，通过支付宝放高利贷，让年轻人过度消费、借钱消费，让无数青年陷入债务危机。
公职人员个个都是罗纳尔多 建议我们国足从公务员队伍里面招人，冲出亚洲 称霸世界......
回旋楼梯螺旋下坠到殡仪馆。听到美国人死了缓慢站起来。教授领导社会运动。不能杀我们两次啊。政产学研各界红酒碰杯。不知道为什么反转也显得有气无力。社会悲剧事件可能需要创新话语表达，而不仅是以既有叙事方式来支持思考。
两颗星送给主题。不喜欢过度渲染，不喜欢脸谱化的人物性格，有一说一，这个故事没讲好。
有一些现实意义，但在韩国一众电影里就显得很一般了。
6.9/10 虽然影片的部分段落, 因强力的台词与足够的视觉冲击力, 观看价值得到有效的提升; 虽然故事的部分情节, 因意料之外的数次转折, 阅读趣味得到有效的保障。 然而对于角色设定的浪费, 对于实话加工的敷衍, 在依照类型公式按部就班的制作方式下, 不仅使影片拥有了与同类型的高重合度, 也一定程度上毁损了影片的质量。
社恐患者 碰巧遇到 自杀问题家庭，治愈着自己而也治愈了这个家庭，在孤独的人也配有朋友，最后没有商业般双赢，没有特别煽情的结局，生活还是继续
题材挺好的，就是有点不是那个味，情节感觉松松散散的，链接不紧密，但该有的韩国元素都有，正义的检察官会被踢，有名气的大公司会做坏事，平头老百姓会是主要受害人，上面的人永远只关心吃饭的问题，最后审判那场戏， 各个部门的推脱责任很韩国，但结尾那段举牌子，相比《辩护人》，就觉得有点尬了……

前4/5是纪实手法讲故事，结尾处安排了商业形式的反转，但估计好多人看不到最后就关了。案件的几个转折：1、受理的转机居然得是「死了美国籍的女性和孩子」，2药方拿钱「买命」，原本坚定的原告一个个拿钱后退出。（影片背景资料：phmg，聚六亚甲基胍盐酸盐。不能用于加湿器杀菌剂：有韩国法律界人士对媒体表示，“加湿器杀菌剂有害性审查出问题国家也有责任”。加湿器杀菌剂中有四种有毒成分，其中造成死亡人数最多的是一种叫PHMG的物质，PHMG早在1996年12月就被其制造企业在生产申报书上明确标注为有害，但政府环境部并没有限制这一物质的用途。）
集体诉讼要靠美帝，出口报告测出有毒要靠澳洲，境外势力才是监督韩国无能部门的最大压力。/镜头语言很真实很残忍，片尾卧底反转略微理想化了。
