The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. Darren and Annie still enjoy each other’s company and laugh at each other’s jokes, but, unfortunately, they can’t remember the last time they had sex. When a dinner party conversation leads to an honest discussion about the state of their love life, and when a sexy bikini photo shoot leads to crossword puzzles instead of sex, they begin to flirt with a way to spice things up. 一位中年美国妇女如何走出丧夫孤地。赵婷对性格偏执的人物很痴迷，前作《骑士》中因骑马几乎弊命但仍不愿放弃的骑手，本片中沉沦丧夫阴影一直遇到脱离孤岛机会又屡次选择独自上路的女人。两片都是在“要不要放弃”的进退两难中纠结，最终都以找到心中答案而走出藩篱。人生是一场接一场的告别，但永远都不要说永别，只要在路上，总会在某个无依之地遇到最美的记忆。

除了没有一个死去的丈夫跟尚且睡在屋檐之下，我竟也想不太出自己跟里面的人有什么不一样…

我还以为是美国本地人拍的，拍出了失产者的困境昔日的第一大国的困境，但又不死心地想要为这种现状去开脱，为了追求精神境界啦不是因为没钱被困住了而是因为精神上被困住了啦……巴拉巴拉，但这或许也是现状的一种表现吧。
整体挺chill out，通俗版Terrence Malick能成新一代的鸡汤配方倒是没想到。
3.5星吧。感觉有点碎。最打动我的竟然是最后的一句“See you down the road."
看到75岁的Swanki描绘她在路上所见的美景，说哪怕在此时死去也不枉此生的时候，眼泪顺着脸颊滑下来了。跟随Fern游荡美国西部的两个小时有好多这样让人感慨的时刻，在影片结束她重回Empire旧居时，我想到开头那个在亚马逊打工的女生的纹身，“家是一个单词，还是你永远放在心里的东西？”
8.5。以为是社会议题，导演却更侧重精神方面。不是积极或消极如此二元，而是过程和升华。有无尽的自由，也有无尽的孤独。女配角说出的所见之美想起银翼杀手中的名台词，人和仿生人在精神上有了那一刻的共通。
