The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. 故事比较平淡，缓慢，老爷子90多还挺硬朗，女人见了都为之着迷，他也只想搂着女人跳跳舞。
因为是东木才能为这片子赋予更多的韵味，那些台词从这个百岁老人口中缓慢模糊的说出来的时候，有强大的治愈和力量。
真的是人老了都会变得敏感细腻吧，老爷子的电影最近几年风格越来越“软”了，暮年的人也许都是这样豁达掺杂着些许无奈。这个世界离他们越来越远，也终将离我们越来越远。那一双透出无尽沧桑的细眼。也早已没了坚定和锐利，随它去吧……
老爷子是不是就想过一下戏瘾？不管怎样，希望继续拍下去吧。

没有沉浸感，总是出戏，觉得这很假，都是演的，可能剧本太差了，小男孩演技也总让人出戏…珠玉在前，东木老了

看睡着了。伊斯特伍德 自导自演，公路片，70年代从墨西哥到得州，一个老头带着一个问题少年。故事核一看就很传统，虽然伊斯特伍德西部片狂野的画风不变，但这种故事有点温情，又是可以放任何背景下。在天苍苍，野茫茫的西部，这些温情反倒不搭，沧桑感和人物关系建立互相拉扯，结果都没做到极致。心疼老爷子，老爷子演的真好，但故事核选错了。

看完之后莫名特别悲伤，这可能是老爷子的倒数第二部电影了
东木高估了自己对于女人男人以及马和动物的魅力，令影片悬于梦想脱离现实的理想主义
后半部分好一些。
