The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. 丹泽尔华盛顿演得确实是不太行……灯光真漂亮，女巫那几场戏非常好。
简洁主义的布景、极为考究的台词、充满张力的表演、自成一体的美学，使得影片具有浓厚的舞台剧色彩。这也不同于科恩兄弟以往的作品，或许是由于乔尔·科恩单独执导本片，我更愿将这部电影视为其“单飞”后的实验作品。
这是属于麦克白的悲剧，也是属于我的悲剧。王冠掉落，魔法失效。黑白提升了观感，也突兀了缺点。

感觉像话剧现场录制的视频，而且是很传统的莎剧。实在是无创新，所以找黑人演的重要角色。
莎翁的東西無論怎麼改也還是魅力永存。畫幅和黑白的復古設定更是讓影片有了一絲高級感。
【NYFF59 - ACH全球首映】近年在电影里看到过最好的黑白摄影之一，美得毛骨悚然。虽然依旧是麦克白的陈规故事，但是科恩在这部电影里做的aesthetic简直无与伦比，半戏剧半实景式的布景、转场、特写，都精致得每一框都可以当画。Frances McDormand的表演不用说了，Danzel其实也给我点惊喜，有点之前扮演者没有的外化疯癫。4.5，真的太需要在大银幕上感受美感了。
没有文化的我听不进去台词看了几次终于看完，光觉得摄影挺好了，但不懂为啥非要拍成黑白的

像是戏剧，但又有不同于戏剧（即电影）的表现手法。场景很宏大，但近景又看不太出。

女配真是几句台词和几个肢体动作就秒了Denzel Wanshington和Frances McDormand
神智不清看到後面居然看出了點巨蟒劇團的意思，到底是我瘋了還是舞台感物極必反？這樣拍莎翁⋯奧遜威爾斯和黑澤明可是要爬出來殺人的
虽然我不懂科恩兄弟这种风格，但仍然大受震撼
