如今这个后西部精神时代，再拾西部主题者除了固有的反抗元素，大多走向了致敬复古之余，以幽默而反套路的舞台剧风格为主的娱乐类型片。相对而言本片不知是否为了配合黑人演员，背景色彩搭配鲜明而人物服化道色彩则相对单一，摄影也稍显单调，于风格略有不合。一个通俗的西部故事被强行扩容，最终强行由反派升华了主题，复仇之欲令人堕落，也留下了续集的余地，典型的网飞之作。5/10
