The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. Darren and Annie still enjoy each other’s company and laugh at each other’s jokes, but, unfortunately, they can’t remember the last time they had sex. When a dinner party conversation leads to an honest discussion about the state of their love life, and when a sexy bikini photo shoot leads to crossword puzzles instead of sex, they begin to flirt with a way to spice things up. The deal: one night of freedom, no strings attached, no questions asked. Could a freebie be the cure for their ailing sex life? And will they go through with it? With a keen eye and fresh take, Aselton’s directorial debut shines with crisp storytelling and fine-tuned performances. 我记得第一次看是在第一次艺考的那个冬天看的现场盗摄版，北京下了初雪，我躲在被窝里看这部剧，心里充满了对舞台的向往，然后情不自禁地流泪，至今我仍然觉得小成本音乐剧的成功典范就应该参考它，绝妙。
但愿吧。
很好的音乐剧，但这是一个音乐剧的录像带，而不是电影。

它对这件事的表达不伤、不煽，也不那么戏剧，反而是贴近日常生活的平实温和。

不论你信奉的是哪个神，不论你的人种国籍与性向，在这个不锁门的小岛上，我们都脱下外表的装饰，回归为相互照拂的人类，回归成关心其他生物的一个普通物种。
群像戏演得很好，很多主题，很正向，也很多泪点。人类的悲歌总会伴随着赞歌。
