The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 死人纯爱竟然能拍这么烂也不容易。本片唯二意义：家人得了绝症的话千万不要相信号称包治百病的骗子；理发的时候不要乱动不然会有血光之灾。女主生病后的描述很少，有点心理波动还是两次冲着嫂子出气……演技也不行，发病前把天真活泼心直口快演得像是智商情商都不太正常。女主发病后故意远离了男主，导致他俩之间互动很少。人生病了果然还是家人靠得住啊。哥嫂人设好演技好描写多，撑起了整部电影。男主失恋以后专心搞事业倒是没错，中岛老师演技凑合，比他演那些B king角色观感好多了。最后相见不相识的桥段其实有点刻意，按说女主身体那么差了，她哥哥不可能让她自己步行去摄影展的。
兰普林老了依旧这么迷人。如果任何难题都可以用酒精来化解就好了，可惜不行。
2分都给了夏洛特·兰普林，傲骨的英气死也要像个胜利的战士一样手握主动权。除此之外的布景服饰背乐都没有什么出彩的地方，到是这个剧情差的“可圈可点” 人物的背景铺陈不够，导致人设的转变可谓毫无头绪的急转弯，很跳戏。
就算有兰普林奶奶，这片子也不值三星！标签太误导大家，难不成后疫情时代喜剧的标准变了吗？
冲着夏洛特兰普林选了这部片子，讲述了身患癌症的奶奶在生命的最后阶段和孙子相处的故事，新西兰的景色美的不可言状，老年和青年的碰撞，生命的开头和结尾，选择体面的离开人世也是一件极其不容易的事情。
生命，不过是一场寄居的旅程，既然是旅行，为什么不有趣点，为什么不开心些。演员不熟悉，甚至有点青涩，但是，这种小情小调很不错。
要好好活着，看看周围，不要封闭自己，感受点滴的爱，即使真的没有人爱你，也请自己爱自己，好好活着！男主有点龅牙，用牙齿咬着嘴唇的时候，真是越看越讨厌啊～～剪掉头发后帅多了，但千万不要笑，不要露齿笑！要不然太出戏了。话说，燃烧着的本子从高楼往下扔没有问题？况且楼下还有个小女孩！
人生是一场漫长的寄宿生活。无论你多爱自己的孩子父母爱人，下辈子都不可能相见了。所以好好珍惜每一天吧！及时享乐～

很治愈的片子，只是年轻一代的演技有待提升，如果你对现阶段的人生感到失望，不妨看一看。
就……难看，总要死一个人，但开头就对人物没好感也没有让人沉浸两人爱情的要素，试图树立配角形象但都浮于表面，无节奏粉丝向作品，尤其结尾错过真是叫人心梗。
长尾谦社剪短发后真的好看很多呀！青梅竹马也是耐看型的，越看越美！特别是为了看烟火大会特意打扮的那个造型，真漂亮！
