The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. 现在电影和电视里都流行得不能出门儿的病，刚看完窗里的女人，俩主角异曲同工，精神类药物可能有致幻效果，没人相信他们，全靠网络和电话破案；走到门口就晕倒或者气短，社交圈极窄，但是都为了正义和责任毅然走出家门，扭转结局，尤其是这部，女主最后开挂了，手持一把钉枪的超级女战士。作为宅到躺家的我，一整部剧羡慕那实木地板的大公寓。
我们在现在这个网络世界里都是赤裸的人，没有所谓的安全，只不过太卑微，不值得被关注罢了

◎对于隐私的描述切中时下问题。
导演索德伯格功底不用多说，但剧情就是一个很小的故事，单线叙事，结尾处理太简单，虎头蛇尾。整个影片看完给人一种小家子气的感觉，但也能理解毕竟受疫情影响，整个好莱坞都不景气，在环境限制下，拍犯罪惊悚拍成这个程度已经很难得了。

开场即是“灵魂三问”：我是谁？我从哪里来？我要到哪里去？非常出色的将“灵魂寄居者”的整体悬疑氛围铺陈了出来。其后格局渐小，3次用开挂式的上身反杀桥段进行反转，从悬疑+奇幻沦为常规犯罪动作片，最后落子战无不胜真爱无敌 -- “为什么所有人都抢着要救你？”
索德伯格的covid时代后窗。小片很见功力。
