Wealthy Rollo Treadway (Buster Keaton) suddenly decides to propose to his neighbor across the street, Betsy O'Brien (Kathryn McGuire), and sends his servant to book passage for a honeymoon sea cruise to Honolulu. When Betsy rejects his sudden offer however, he decides to go on the trip anyway, boarding without delay that night. Because the pier number is partially covered, he ends up on the wrong ship, the Navigator, which Betsy's rich father (Frederick Vroom) has just sold to a small country at war.
Agents for the other small nation in the conflict decide to set the ship adrift that same night. When Betsy's father checks up on the ship, he is captured and tied up by the saboteurs. Betsy hears his cry for help and boards the ship to look for him, just before it is cut loose.
The Navigator drifts out into the Pacific Ocean. The two unwitting passengers eventually find each other. At first, they have great difficulty looking after themselves, but adapt after a few weeks. At one point, they sight a navy ship and hoist a brightly-colored flag, not realizing it signals that the ship is under quarantine. As a result, the other vessel turns away.
Finally, the ship grounds itself near an inhabited tropical island and springs a leak. While Rollo dons a deep sea diving suit and submerges to patch the hole, the black natives canoe out and take Betsy captive. When Rollo emerges from the ocean, the natives are scared off, enabling him to rescue Betsy and take her back to the ship. The natives return and try to board the ship. After a fierce struggle, Rollo and Betsy try to escape in a small dinghy. It starts to sink, and the natives swiftly overtake them in their canoes. Just when all seems lost, a navy submarine surfaces right underneath them and they are saved.
并没有想象的那么糟糕。虽然有非常多糟糕的调度不明所以的摄影机位置、摄影机角度，可是导演私人的故事所勾连起的上世纪60年代爱尔兰贝尔法斯特地区的历史是迷人的
奥斯卡里看到的最值得的一部作品了。
能不能别套那么多公式啊😅
虽然很一般，但是看到最后我还是有点莫名其妙的感动。
肯爵的童年自传片？选择离开真的是一件很难的事情，对离开的人来说是这样，对留下的人来说同样如此。
同样是讲成长的故事，美国的成长和日本的成长就是风格迥异啊哈哈，挺喜欢这部的调调的，镜头感太棒了，小朋友的演技也很牛逼
独属于导演的童年回忆，感觉肯尼斯·布拉纳希望像卡隆一样拍出一部属于自己的Roma，但各方面都与之相差甚远，不过胜在足够真诚。(里面小男孩看的是雷神的漫画，这个点就很私人了。
这片子真的是在过度戏剧性和闪亮的电影感之间来回摇摆，节奏乱的很。有的地方很有特色，有的地方让我看的很迷茫。
Kenneth Branagh‘s most personal masterpiece, shooting in gentle black-and-white, with sporadic bursts of glorious color. 音乐好棒。想起一位在Belfast长大的朋友，自带爱尔兰的酒精灵魂与地域自豪。语言塑造氛围，上一次听科林摩根的爱尔兰口音还是在《MERLín》的专访。No one has captured the conflicts in Ireland more eternally than WB Yeats: "All is changed, changed utterly;A terrible beauty is born".
前部分以为是讲一个北爱尔兰留守儿童的故事，后面发现是往故乡主题发展的。片尾字幕：致那些留下的故人，致那些离开的游子，以及所有迷失的人。
pop说，“你是贝尔法斯特15区的巴迪，无论你去哪里变成什么样，这永远是事实。” 所以故乡是离开故乡以后的身份证，也是漂泊在外的一份安全感，像牵着风筝的线一样。好像很多导演最终会拍一下自己的故乡，让我想起贾科长说的回望故乡赋予我们获取看世界的最初的经验。
爵爷卸甲归田拍了这部半自传，有些地方拍的还是蛮魔幻，北爱冲突也没描写的太惨烈，目的就是为了给故乡的情书保持温暖的基调吧。小时候我对宗教能引发冲突也会觉得不可思议，现在老了逐步能体会到复杂性。
6/10。其实整体的质感还可以，故事虽然普通，但把童年的美好与家庭、社会的暗流涌动展现了出来，算是完成了任务。然而故事还是过于琐碎，导致没有重点，而且所谓童年的美好大多透过看电影来呈现，是为剧作上的偷懒。
主要是棚拍的天主教街区让我很困惑，我不知道该拿它当实验影响《狗镇》那样看待，还是就真他妈假布景一坨屎？
即便是个彩色电影，它也依然可爱，只是会变得很普通，最好的戏都在爷孙俩的对话上头了，不知道为什么让我想起《客途秋恨》来，自从离别故土，秋天的风就这样吹了一生。
电影拍得很好。很多镜头让人过目难忘、意无穷。比如小男孩站在街对面，看着自己的梦中女孩对着窗，梳着一头金色长发，窗映出女孩的脸，不知女孩是在看自己、还是看对面的人。再比如爷爷去世后，满脸皱纹的奶奶看着对面街的巴士，跟儿子对视，用唇语说着“GO，dont look back”慢慢地，也不用离奇的剧情、煽情的对白，眼泪早就打起了转。个人认为比《roma》更引人共情。
回家之后就要挑一些 PG-13 的电影和爸妈一起看，看之前先去 IMDb 查 Parental Guide。这部电影总体比较私人化，奏鸣曲其中的一小段喜怒爱乐变奏旋律。有几处仰拍、特写给影片添加了一些滑稽感，但感觉场景的编排和剪辑仍然比较随意。
电影跟Branagh的性格好像的感觉，没有太伤感也没有什么大冲突，也没有夸张化离别对于小朋友的影响。祖父母真的是一对儿大可爱。【不知道为什么总觉得黑白电影中再去看一些电影元素显得更清晰……】if you can’t be good, be careful 感觉这句才是最大的无奈。
黑白格调，有历史感的同时不失唯美，儿童视角，动乱冲突依然看到儿时的快乐和对故乡的留恋。似乎也就能想到这些，还有就是英式英语吧（大概）。7/10分
二十分钟以后，Colin出现了，他演的是一个恶棍。dear Merlin ！对爱尔兰不了解真的很难进入。爱尔兰有天主教、新教，有共和军，有凯尔特文化，St. Patrick，吉普赛魔法……他们平时说话像念诗，念诗像唱歌……法鲨演的羞耻里面兄妹俩也是来自爱尔兰……爱尔兰到底是个什么存在啊。have a wee think...
