The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. 像是戏剧，但又有不同于戏剧（即电影）的表现手法。场景很宏大，但近景又看不太出。
至于画面、故事、美术那差的更加不是一星半点。

I don't get it . 现在不确定是我不行，还是电影不行，所以我打算看看其他的版本再说。看到一些表扬说把舞台感融入电影是优点……I don't think so.主要是太空了，也许这就是导演的意图，要放空背景，但是这样整体气氛都弱了。如果是老版大都会那种背景，虽然也是布景感很强，但是很丰富，那个感觉我就比较喜欢。

在欧洲的传统叙事中总喜欢插入一则带有宿命论的神谕。
删繁就简，打造了神秘的史诗，黑白影像展现了光影艺术。丹泽尔与科恩嫂都不错，唯独故事弱了点。

“以不义开始的事情，必须用罪恶使它巩固。”（Things bad begun make strong themselves by ill.）听说是黑白影像+单一场景+古英语，以为会像被陀托屠的经典巨著砸了脑袋那样昏昏欲睡，结果观感还不错。丹泽尔老了也一样帅，邓肯国王是《梅塞德斯先生》，早前也演过科恩电影（《巴斯特·斯克鲁格斯的歌谣》）。刺杀一场戏几乎可以用性感来形容，麦克多蒙德的麦克白夫人驾轻就熟，都有一种诗意的邪恶。
领略莎翁文字之美，请不要去影院啃生肉，至少配台词字幕。
mise en scene真的酷死了，但是表演、台词、叙事整个拼到一起就说不出来的奇怪很不对味。

话剧般的场景黑白过分明亮的配色，暗黑预言勾起的野心和欲望，不义之王，悲剧早已注定，但是为害不浅，从有功之臣到万人唾弃的暴君，何苦听信，失去底线，坠入地狱。
1:1，纯黑白，影帝影后，莎士比亚…比起电影更像是一场两小时的舞台剧，只不过呈现方式是大导演的视角…
