The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. Darren and Annie still enjoy each other’s company and laugh at each other’s jokes, but, unfortunately, they can’t remember the last time they had sex. When a dinner party conversation leads to an honest discussion about the state of their love life, and when a sexy bikini photo shoot leads to crossword puzzles instead of sex, they begin to flirt with a way to spice things up. The deal: one night of freedom, no strings attached, no questions asked. Could a freebie be the cure for their ailing sex life? And will they go through with it? With a keen eye and fresh take, Aselton’s directorial debut shines with crisp storytelling and fine-tuned performances. 新冠的戏份过于生硬和无聊，这种强行加入的情节，让人感觉太过于游离，但即使没有这些，这剧情也都是跟梦游一样，一会儿天上一会儿地下的毫无逻辑和过度，为了推动情节而强行的硬掰，实在看不出这是个老导演的作品，这想问山田洋次：廉颇老矣，尚能饭否？
对了，赌鬼真的是有病，没治。飞蛾扑火性格的人，也没治。那也是人生啊。

《电影之神》9.26北京剧院 北影节
影视民工许多地方都有共鸣（懂自懂🥲）其实反而觉得两段故事的衔接这样做才好，不必批评故事老套幼稚，写的就是那些自我怀疑没有才华的时刻，这也是片子与作者的关系，对于90岁的山田洋次来说，比起精雕细琢，已经更在意快乐看电影本身。
故事没有多好甚至有些陈旧，但被结尾戳中了，电影之神，请保佑我吧！
剧情上有太多说不通和不了了之，男主女主年轻时的情感也来的有些莫名其妙。后半部分看着年轻时候淑子的照片二人一起幻想她过着普通且幸福的一生确实让人泪目。阿乡啊，你太知道害一个人怎样害一生，淑子要是选了影院老爷爷该多好。
渣男版的家族之苦。年轻时代的人设和现代部分相差过大，结尾疫情时代下对电影院的感触好直接。
后面还是挺感动的，落泪了，只是观感还是有点儿割裂。
普普通通甚至有点无聊，suda演技也没发挥出来，去外国拍戏吧

一封对电影的情书，通过放映转场回过去很有情调，接回现实也便是回忆。
泪目 救赎原来还可以这样拍 “人生只能以一种方式后悔”说的太好了！ Mei酱虽然演的不行 但是还是好可爱
山田洋次还是擅长家庭戏啊，有几幕看得鼻头发酸，眼眶湿润，但总体这片子 只能算一般……
北川景子美翻了
这部电影不如说是借用了《象棋的故事》。
结尾有点怪，但还是会被老爷子感动到。
爷孙二人摘掉了口罩，回到了疫情前那段美好的时光，片尾火车离去的片段，离开的不是爸爸，是“原节子”。
