The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. Darren and Annie still enjoy each other’s company and laugh at each other’s jokes, but, unfortunately, they can’t remember the last time they had sex. When a dinner party conversation leads to an honest discussion about the state of their love life, and when a sexy bikini photo shoot leads to crossword puzzles instead of sex, they begin to flirt with a way to spice things up. 维京古文化的考究与其元素的充沛并没有弥补叙事动能的不足。作者电影的思维与创作技巧禁锢了该题材本应有的观影情绪。想想当年吉布森的《启示》多么扣人心弦。可惜了。
影像至上，文本稍逊，冗杂略长；虽然古典戏剧外加暴走的荷尔蒙，感觉上会很别扭，而且常规叙事和传统表达比较庸俗；但制作绝对走心，一板一眼无功无过，各要素搭配恰如其分，难得的良心佳片。

我错了！这片子真香！虽然依旧是超英的故事骨架但是又非常有功夫片的味道，还拍了可能有半本《山海经》进去，感觉上一次看到这么大容量高密度浑然一体的文化输出可能还是《卧虎藏龙》。以及梁朝伟真是所有超英电影里最让人心疼（和花痴）的反派！
